TDAS is an independent voluntary organisation which is affiliated to Women’s Aid Federation England. TDAS and has been operating since June 1990. TDAS is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. TDAS is the only specialist agency in Trafford to deliver services to adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. We are funded for our services through various funding streams and are in the process of looking for further areas of funding to enable us to extend the services we provide in the borough of Trafford.
Purpose of the role
To provide a flexible holistic range of trauma informed services for children/young people in TDAS accommodation provision including the organisation of play and after school sessions, family work and direct work packages, in order to support them and their families to improve their quality of life surrounding the issues and effects of domestic abuse.
Access, organise and deliver the appropriate services to meet the needs of the children/young people and their families living in TDAS accommodation.
Coordinate and run play sessions, celebrations, trips and outings for children/young people and their families.
Act as a key worker for children and families accessing the refuge services.
Deliver TDAS R’Space© programmes for children and young people living in the refuge either in a group or one-to-one setting.
Deliver parenting support sessions and group programmes for mothers living in TDAS accommodation.
Deliver family sessions and support children and parents to encourage positive attachment.
To apply for this position it is essential that you have a NNEB/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in child care and education, social care or teaching. You must also have minimum of 2 years experience of working with children and young people in crisis and knowledge and understanding of the effects of domestic abuse on adults, children and young people. You must be able to assess risk, support plan and deliver services. It is essential that you have an up to date knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding.
