Management and Organisational Team

I have worked in the voluntary sector since 2007. I have a degree in Psychology and originally wanted to be a College Teacher but during my volunteering years whilst studying, I quickly learnt that my love for direct support work would send me in a different direction and I haven’t looked back since.

I am extremely passionate about service-user involvement and believe that their voice should be at the centre of all we do. This stemmed from my time as Client Inclusion Champion when I was a Project Worker supporting homeless women facing multiple disadvantage.

I joined Team TDAS in 2010 as a Refuge Support Worker and since the day I walked through the door I knew TDAS was where I was destined to be. I feel extremely privileged to lead such an amazing organisation with fantastic people providing person-centred, empowering support to families needing to break free from domestic abuse.

My TDAS journey began in 2011, at Phoenix House, our oldest refuge where I was a children and young people’s support worker, supporting children who had fled their homes because of domestic abuse. After seeing so many women fleeing to our refuge, who had themselves been in refuges as young children with their mothers, I understood TDAS’s mission and the need to break the cycle of domestic abuse. It’s then that I devised the Speak out Speak Now© programme; for young people aged 14+ that educates and promotes healthy relationships.

In 2017 I was promoted to Services Manager, leading the adult and children’s service. TDAS has experienced a significant growth since 2017 which was very much needed, because of this I was fortunate enough to be promoted to Director of Operations where I am responsible for the operational running of TDAS as well having a strategic focus. It’s a role I love as I lead a fantastic team and work closely with them to develop current and new services to meet the needs of the people we support.
