All paid members of staff are accountable to the CEO, and ultimately the Trustees of TDAS

Place of work: Based at our accommodation sites

Hours of Work:  26 hours per week

Salary/scale: £13.45 per hour

Background

Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS) is a Quality accredited, registered charity offering support to individuals and families who are affected by domestic abuse since 1990. We support families who live/work in the Trafford area and also provide IDVA and Children and Young People (CYP) support services in Salford. We provide both intervention and prevention services and work in partnership with other voluntary organisations to support families across Greater Manchester.

Purpose of the role

TDAS operate a large and in demand accommodation service to survivors of domestic abuse and their children and this role is integral to us facilitating the service effectively and to a high standard. The housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of the properties, furniture and living areas are clean, safe and welcoming. You will provide housekeeping and cleaning services to TDAS accommodation sites; including our 4 communal refuges and 13 dispersed properties, ensuring a high standard of health and safety is maintained to the expectations of the organisation. Working as part of the accommodation team to ensure effective turn over of rooms and properties, setting them up to welcome new families and survivors. Your role will include visiting all TDAS sites, liaising with the accommodation team to create an efficient and proactive approach to ensuring the cleaning of refuge and void bedspaces so we can offer safe space for survivors as quickly as possible to support those needing to flee in crisis. You will have a survivor facing role and will be communicating with families daily, you will play an active part in ensuring that the survivors first impression of accommodation is safe, welcoming and meets their needs on arrival. You will be working within their temporary homes and be expected to hold a good standard of professional boundaries whilst also being approachable and supportive.

Application Criteria and Process

To apply for this position, it is essential you have experience of working in a similar role; cleaning, housekeeping, support or care work. Have good communication skills (essential) and can manage your own work.
