Salary/scale: Starting £24,204.22 (£29,851.88 FTE)

Background
Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS) is a Quality accredited, registered charity offering support to individuals and families who are affected by domestic abuse since 1990. We support families who live/work in the Trafford area and also provide IDVA and Children and Young People (CYP) support services in Salford. We provide both intervention and prevention services and work in partnership with other voluntary organisations to support families across Greater Manchester.

Purpose of the role
To play an integral and active part in the Safe in Salford community IDVA team. The purpose of the role is to work in partnership with the police, providing intervention and support to victims who have received police intervention on more than one occasion, who are presenting some high-risk factors but not meeting the MARAC threshold. Helping to support Repeat victims of Domestic Abuse and reduce repeat victimisation. The Domestic abuse crisis worker will act as key point of contact between the Safe in Salford team, the police and the victim/survivor. They would provide short term face to face intervention offering immediate risk assessments and crisis interventions and onward referral to further support from Safe in Salford or other support services appropriate to meet the needs identified. They will have full overview of the service offer providing a person centred, trauma informed intervention; aimed at encouraging engagement with specialist services and improving the criminal justice journey.

Application Criteria and Process
Minimum of 12 months experience of working with adults identified as high risk in a domestic abuse setting.
Experience of working with adults in a crisis situation, demonstrating strong crisis management skills and ability to cope under pressure.
Knowledge and understanding of the effects of domestic abuse on adults, children and young people and relevant legislation.
In depth understanding of safeguarding adults and Child protection.
Equality issues and marginalisation of various groups and communities.
The roles and responsibilities of statutory organisations in relation to DA.
Working knowledge of all relevant Policy and Procedures e.g. risk assessment, support planning and delivery of person-centred services, Health & Safety requirements.
